J. Shane Givens

Shane Givens opened his law practice in his hometown of Centre, Alabama in 2004 after working at a large firm Birmingham.  He was very happy to be able to move home and open up his own practice and has enjoyed much success in doing so.  He earned his law degree from the Cumberland School of Law at Samford University in Birmingham and his undergraduate degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.

Shane is a member at Centre First Baptist Church. He is active in supporting all types of  community organizations. He is married to Andrea Ellis Givens and has two children, Colin and Ellisan. He also enjoys coaching his son’s Dixie Youth baseball team.

Shane is one of this areas finest trial attorneys and has trial experience in all matters of family law, divorce, criminal defense and civil litigation. Summer L. McWhorter

Summer McWhorter joined Shane Givens at his law office in 2012. Prior to joining Shane, she operated her own practice here in Centre, Alabama. Summer was born and raised in Cedar Bluff, Alabama where her parents still reside. She graduated from the Cumberland School of Law at Samford University in 2009. She also received a degree in political science from Auburn University. Summer is one of Centre’s brightest new attorneys and practices in juvenile law, family law, divorce, criminal defense and civil litigation, business law, and wills and estates. Summer is active in her family church, Cedar Bluff First United Methodist.
